Wollombi

Location

Our first cabin is in Wollombi, a historic village in the Hunter Region, a short 1.45 hour drive from Sydney.

Once an important Aboriginal meeting place and a major junction on the convict trail, Wollombi now moves at a much slower pace with charming family-run cafes and restaurants, art & craft shops, a country pub, and fine 19th-century buildings.

Explore boutique wineries

There are lots of local vineyards within 5-10mins of Wollombi, so you can visit several in one afternoon. Try Stonehurst Cedar Creek on the way to Cessnock, Noyce Brothers Tasting Room in the village and Undercliff Winery is a short drive opposite the Wollombi Tennis Courts.

If you have more time, head towards Broke and visit some lovely local wineries set in a beautiful valley, such as Krinklewood Winery, Greenway Wines and Winmark Wines, and if you feel like a special lunch, try out Margan Wines and Restaurant.

Switch off & do nothing

Read a book at the cabin, take a short walk around the property, observe the native animals and birds. Walk into Wollombi village for a coffee. Collect firewood and make your own fire to sit around and enjoy. Turn the lights off at night and gaze at the stars from your own private wood-fired hot tub. Sometimes the best times are spent doing nothing.
